Hate Crime Assault at Subway Station?

QUEENS - Police are looking for a suspect who struck a straphanger after making anti-Asian remarks at a Queens subway station back in July.



Police are once again asking for the public’s help in trying to catch a man suspected of assaulting a subway rider at the Queensboro Plaza South subway station.


At around noon on July 22, a 31-year-old man was standing in the mezzanine waiting for a Number 7 train. Cops said a man approached the straphanger and began shouting anti-Asian remarks. He then began punching the victim in the left side of his face. 






The attacker then ran out of the subway station.


The victim suffered bruising and pain to the left side of his but he refused medical treatment.


The case is being investigated by the NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force.





The suspect is described as a male between the ages of 30 and 40. He is six feet tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jean jacket, black shorts, white socks, white and black sneakers and white hat.

At around 5:45 pm on March 12, a 26-year-old male was standing in front of 76-07 160th Street. Cops said a man in a black coat and a black face covering ran up and pulled out a gun. The gunman fired multiple rounds at the victim but missed. The gunman then ran away on in an unknown direction. However, cops recovered surveillance video of the suspect from a nearby house. Toolbox Muggers Attack Man on F Train The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with an assault and robbery of a straphanger using pliers. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice April 24, 2024 QUEENS - A Queens subway rider was beaten and robbed by a pair of attackers who displayed a knife and a pair of pliers, cops said.  At around 8 pm on April 20, a 20-year-old man was onboard an F Train in Queens. As the train was pulling in to the Hillside Avenue/179 Street Subway Station, two men approached the straphanger.  Cops said one of the men pulled out a knife, the other pulled out a pair of pliers. The attackers then began punching and kicking the straphanger. They also beat the man with the pliers, cops said. The attackers went on to forcibly removed the victim’s cellphone and wallet.  When the train stopped at the station, the attackers ran out of the subway car and fled the station.  EMS rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where was listed in stable cond
