QUEENS LOCAL NEWS - Cops are looking for a man who made derogatory remarks to a woman and then punched her in the face in what is being investigated as a possible hate crime.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with a hate-motivated assault that took place late Tuesday night in Queens.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened around 10:38 p.m. on September 30, 2025, on an eastbound Q83 MTA bus near Farmers Boulevard and 113th Avenue.

Investigators say a 22-year-old woman was sitting on the bus when an unidentified man sat beside her and began making remarks about her sexual orientation. Moments later, the man allegedly punched her several times in the face, leaving her with a cut.

The attacker then ran off the bus and fled on foot, heading eastbound on Farmers Boulevard.

The victim suffered a minor injury. She refused medical attention at the scene but later went to Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital on her own.

The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is leading the investigation.

Police describe the suspect as a man with a dark complexion who was last seen wearing a black durag, a maroon jacket, black pants, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about the case is urged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), or in Spanish at 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Tips can also be submitted online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org or on X (formerly Twitter) at @NYPDTips.
