QUEENS LOCAL NEWS - Cops are looking for a man who slashed one victim and threatened at least nine others during a string of robberies throughout Flushing and Elmhurst. Cops say the knife-wielding robber rides up on his victims in an electric scooter

In total, investigators have linked the same suspect to at least 10 robberies over the past month. In each case, a man riding a black motorized scooter or electric bike reportedly approached unsuspecting pedestrians, brandished a knife, and demanded their belongings before speeding off.

The first incident was reported early morning on October 27th, near Oak Avenue and Colden Street in the 109th Precinct. A 36-year-old man told police he was robbed by a knife-wielding suspect on a black scooter who made off with his bag, wallet, and $700 in cash.

No one was injured.

Over the following days, similar robberies were reported in nearby neighborhoods — including Elm Avenue, 59th Avenue, and 153rd Street — often early in the morning or late at night. In each case, the suspect was described as riding a scooter or electric bike, pulling a knife, and demanding cash or valuables.

By October 31st, the pattern had spread into the neighboring 110th Precinct, which covers Elmhurst and Corona. Around 8:15 that morning, a 33-year-old woman told police she was robbed at knifepoint near 41st Avenue and 108th Street. The suspect took her chain and wallet before fleeing north on 108th Street.

The most violent of the reported incidents happened the next day, November 1st, back in the 109th Precinct. Around 7:30 a.m., near 58th Avenue and 153rd Street, a 52-year-old man was slashed in the head after being confronted by a suspect matching the same description. The attacker stole the man’s backpack before taking off.

Emergency services rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Queens, where he was treated for a laceration and listed in stable condition.

Within hours, other victims in both precincts reported similar encounters. One man near Avery Avenue lost his backpack and $300. In Elmhurst, two women — one 36 and another just 21 — said they were approached by a man on a scooter who threatened or robbed them. In one case, the thief fled empty-handed; in the other, he got away with a handbag and cash.

The most recent incidents occurred on November 4th, both in the 109th Precinct. Around 9:10 p.m., a 69-year-old man near Beech Avenue and Kissena Boulevard was robbed of $700. Just 25 minutes later, a 54-year-old woman on 58th Road had her cellphone and cash stolen by a man on a black scooter wielding a knife.

Police say the robberies share striking similarities — particularly the use of a dark-colored scooter or electric bike and a knife — suggesting the same suspect or group could be responsible. So far, no arrests have been made, and no additional injuries have been reported.
