Authorities say these thefts occurred at local retail stores in Queens, targeting high-value items like sneakers and designer perfume.
According to police reports, the first incident in this retail theft pattern happened on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Target on College Point Boulevard. Surveillance footage shows unidentified suspects stealing 16 pairs of sneakers valued at approximately $1,000 before fleeing the store on foot.
Just a few days later, on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the same group—or possibly the same suspects—entered Macy’s at Roosevelt Avenue. Police say they stole 11 bottles of perfume worth $2,700, again fleeing the scene on foot without causing any harm.
The pattern continued exactly one week later, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with another theft at the same Macy’s location. This time, the suspects made off with 11 more bottles of perfume valued at $1,600, following the same method of escape.
Police are now asking residents and shoppers in Queens to review the surveillance images and video media from the February 1 and February 12 incidents, which are available through the NYPD’s Detective Communications and Public Information (DCPI) office.
