Teen Slashed in Face During Beef in Mall

QUEENS, NY - The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a violent assault inside the 110 Precinct in Elmhurst, Queens.
According to police, the incident happened on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at approximately 4:50 p.m., inside the Queens Center Mall at 90-15 Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst. Authorities say an 18-year-old man became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified male. What began as an argument quickly escalated into what investigators are calling a Queens Boulevard knife slashing incident.
Investigators report that during the confrontation, the suspect allegedly displayed a knife and slashed the victim in the face and hand, causing lacerations. The attack occurred inside a commercial building along one of the borough’s busiest corridors, making this January 31, 2026 assault inside 90-15 Queens Boulevard particularly concerning for residents and business owners.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the injured 18-year-old to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was listed in stable condition. Police confirmed the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries in what is being investigated as a targeted slashing attack in the 110 Precinct.
The suspect fled the location on foot and remains at large, prompting an active search connected to the Elmhurst Queens slashing suspect investigation.
Police describe the individual as a male who was last seen wearing a black ski mask, black jacket with a gray stripe, black pants and black sneakers.
Authorities are asking the public to help identify the male suspect wearing a black ski mask involved in Queens Boulevard assault. Investigators believe someone may recognize the clothing description or have information related to the suspect who fled on foot after knife attack in Elmhurst.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine what led to the confrontation and whether the individuals involved were known to each other. No arrests have been made in connection with the violent dispute that led to slashing inside the 110 Precinct.
