QUEENS, NY - Cops are looking for yet another “Subway Psycho” who attacked a commuter in the subway. This time a man was struck in the face with a milk crate, cops said.
The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a violent assault inside the Queens Plaza subway station, within the confines of the 108 Precinct and Transit District 20.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. A 27-year-old man was walking through a passageway inside the station when he was suddenly approached from behind by an unidentified individual.
Authorities said that the suspect struck the victim across the face with a milk crate, causing a laceration to the victim’s eye. After the assault, the individual fled the location on foot and remains at large.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene shortly after the attack. The victim was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released a photo taken from subway surveillance cameras. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and medium build. He was was last seen wearing a black hat, black jacket, black shirt, black sweatpants and brown shoes.
Subway safety remains a major concern for many New Yorkers. Incidents like this one — involving an unprovoked strike from behind — heighten anxiety among daily commuters.
