QUEENS, NY - Cops are looking for a would-be scooter jacker who beat a rider as he tried to steal the man’s ride.


According to police, the scooter robbery March 13 2026 NYC incident occurred on Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., near the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and 64th Street in Queens. A 25-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter when he was suddenly approached by an unidentified individual.


In what investigators describe as a brazen encounter tied to an NYPD investigation Roosevelt Avenue, the suspect allegedly grabbed the handlebars of the scooter, preventing the victim from moving. The situation quickly escalated when the individual struck the victim in the head with an open palm. Authorities say the suspect then attempted to take the scooter but was unsuccessful.


After failing to steal the motorized scooter in this attempted robbery Queens scooter case, the suspect fled the scene on foot, heading westbound along Roosevelt Avenue. Police say he disappeared into the surrounding area and has not yet been apprehended.


The victim, despite being struck during the confrontation, declined medical attention at the scene.


As part of the ongoing NYPD investigation Roosevelt Avenue, the NYPD has released a description of the individual wanted for questioning in connection with this suspect wanted Queens NY case. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion. At the time of the incident, he was last seen wearing a black jacket, green pants, a white hat, and gray sneakers.
