QUEENS, NY - A 46-year-old Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with a violent assault that left a 27-year-old victim hospitalized, according to police.

Authorities say Khemon Shaw, of Brooklyn, was taken into custody on Monday, March 2, 2026, at approximately 2:10 p.m. within the confines of the 107th Precinct. He has been charged with assault following what investigators describe as a sudden and unprovoked attack inside a station passageway.

Police say the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. when a 27-year-old man was walking through a passageway inside the station. Without warning, an unidentified individual allegedly approached him from behind and struck him across the face with a milk crate.

The blow caused a laceration to the victim’s eye, authorities said. After the assault, the attacker fled the scene on foot.

Emergency Medical Services responded quickly to the scene following reports of the assault. The injured man was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and listed in stable condition.

Law enforcement officials have not yet released additional details about what may have led to the confrontation. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, including whether the victim and suspect knew each other prior to the incident.

The arrest marks a significant development in what authorities are describing as an active NYPD investigation into an assault inside a public transit station passageway.
