QUEENS, NY - Residents in Queens are being urged to stay alert after a late-night home invasion robbery in the 104 Precinct in Queens, and police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects connected to the incident.

According to the NYPD, the robbery occurred on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 11:05 p.m., near Fairview Avenue and Woodbine Street in Queens.

Police say a 27-year-old man and a 20-year-old man were inside their residence when two unidentified males knocked on their door. The individuals allegedly claimed they were representatives from a gas company — a tactic authorities say is sometimes used in utility worker impersonation home invasion scams in New York City.

When the 27-year-old victim opened the door, the suspects allegedly forced their way into the home in what investigators are calling an armed residential break-in inside the 104 Precinct.

Once inside, both individuals displayed firearms and demanded property. Authorities report that the suspects removed the 27-year-old victim’s cellphone before fleeing the scene on foot. They were last seen heading in an unknown direction following the Queens armed robbery near Fairview Avenue and Woodbine Street.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the incident has raised concerns about door-to-door impersonation robbery incidents in Queens neighborhoods.

Investigators have released descriptions of both individuals wanted in connection with the March 1, 2026 home invasion robbery in the 104 Precinct.

The suspect is a male who was last seen wearing eyeglasses, tan pants, a white hat and a green jacket.

The second suspect is described as a male, who was last seen wearing a white face mask, black jacket and grey sweatpants.

Police have also released media images of the two individuals and are asking anyone who recognizes them to come forward in the ongoing NYPD investigation into an armed home invasion in Queens.

While officials have not confirmed whether this incident is connected to other cases, criminals posing as utility workers remains a known tactic in New York City home invasion robbery investigations involving fake service workers.

Authorities are reminding residents to take precautions against gas company impersonation burglary scams in NYC, including:

  • Verifying identification before opening the door

  • Contacting the utility company directly to confirm service visits

  • Refusing entry to unsolicited service workers

  • Reporting suspicious activity immediately
