QUEENS, NY - The Ring of Fire Takeover crew has grown to 8 as the NYPD released images of new suspects at the violent spectacle in Queens.
According to police, the incident—now widely being referred to as a “ring of fire street takeover in Queens”—happened in the early hours of Saturday, April 18, 2026. Around 1:48 a.m., officers were called to the intersection of 69th Street and Elliott Avenue, right along the border of Maspeth and Middle Village, after reports of reckless driving and drag racing.
When officers arrived, they encountered what can only be described as a full-blown spectacle. Roughly 100 people had gathered at the intersection, where drivers were performing dangerous stunts in what witnesses described as a “Queens street takeover with cars doing donuts in a ring of fire”. Video from the scene shows vehicles spinning in tight circles while flames lit up the roadway, creating a hazardous and unpredictable environment. While drivers waved Palestinian flags while doing donuts.
Police say multiple vehicles were involved in the chaos. A blue car was seen driving recklessly in continuous circular motions, while a silver BMW X3—occupied by three unidentified men—and a white BMW carrying two men and one woman were also part of the activity. Investigators are now focusing on these vehicles as part of the “NYPD investigation into reckless driving and drag racing in Queens”.
As officers attempted to bring the situation under control, things escalated even further. Two male suspects allegedly jumped onto the hood of a marked police vehicle, cracking the windshield and causing visible damage. The suspects then fled the scene in a black Nissan. Authorities say this brazen act is central to the “suspects wanted for damaging NYPD vehicle during street takeover” case.
In total, the NYPD is searching for eight individuals—seven men and one woman—in connection with the incident. All are wanted on charges of reckless endangerment. Officials recently released surveillance images in hopes that the public can help identify those involved in what they describe as a “large illegal street racing event in Queens involving multiple suspects”.
Despite the intensity of the situation, no injuries were reported. Still, the risks were undeniable. Law enforcement officials continue to stress that events like these pose serious threats to both participants and bystanders, underscoring the urgency behind the “police crackdown on illegal street takeovers in New York City”.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. As viral videos of the event continue to circulate online, the NYPD is doubling down on efforts to identify those responsible and prevent future incidents like this.
For now, one thing is clear: what happened in Queens that night wasn’t just reckless—it was a stark reminder of how quickly these gatherings can spiral out of control.
