QUEENS, NY - An “unlucky” teen has been shot a second time in six months this time on a Queens subway train. Cops have released a photo of the new shooting suspect.

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a troubling shooting incident unfolded aboard a subway train in Queens. Authorities say the case is part of a larger, ongoing conflict between teenagers—and they’re hoping someone recognizes the suspect before things escalate further.

On April 27, at around 6:00 p.m., a violent encounter broke out on a northbound A train as it approached the 80th Street subway station. According to police, what started as an argument quickly turned into a shooting. A 15-year-old boy was struck in both the neck and back, sending shockwaves through passengers on board.

After the shooting, the suspect calmly exited the train and fled on foot, disappearing into the surrounding neighborhood. Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim survived and was transported by police to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators believe this was not a random act of violence. Instead, it appears tied to an ongoing dispute between a group of teenagers. In fact, police revealed that the same victim had been shot just months earlier in February.

In the February incident, another teen was arrested, but the charges were eventually dropped when the victim chose not to cooperate with prosecutors. Now, with a second shooting tied to the same circle, authorities are increasingly concerned about retaliation and escalation.

The suspect in this latest case is described as a male with braids, a medium build, and a medium complexion. He was last seen wearing all black clothing paired with gray sneakers. Police are urging anyone who may have seen him—or who recognizes him from released images—to come forward immediately.

The NYPD is emphasizing that community involvement can make a critical difference. Even small tips could help investigators track down the individual responsible and prevent further violence.

For now, the investigation remains active, and police are asking the public to stay alert. If you have any information related to this case, contacting authorities could help bring closure—and potentially prevent another incident.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
