Subway Psycho Assaults Man in Wheelchair

QUEENS, NY - A heartless attacker pulled a man out of his wheelchair and beat him at a Queens subway station. The shocking attack is sending chills down the spine of commuters who thought they had heard of everything.
The incident happened around 6:25 a.m. on May 4, at the Junction Boulevard 7 train station in Corona, Queens. Authorities say the 59-year-old victim was waiting in the station overpass when another man approached him and started arguing.
According to investigators, the verbal confrontation quickly escalated into what police are calling a violent wheelchair assault at Queens subway station.
Officials say the suspect repeatedly punched the victim in the face before allegedly dragging him out of his wheelchair and continuing the attack. The victim suffered injuries to his face and body during the incident.
EMS crews responded to the scene shortly after the assault and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Authorities confirmed the man was listed in stable condition following the attack.
Police say the suspect fled the scene on foot and remains at large.
The NYPD released surveillance images as part of the ongoing search.
Investigators described the suspect as a man last seen wearing blue jeans, a purple sweatshirt, and multicolored sneakers.
The incident took place within the confines of the 115th Precinct and Transit District 20, according to police officials.
As concerns over transit safety continue across New York City, the case has sparked renewed discussion online about the safety of vulnerable riders using public transportation.
