QUEENS, NY - Smirking attacker sucker punches a commuter in Flushing. Now cops are hoping video taken from inside an MTA will lead to his arrest.
According to police, the incident happened on April 11, 2026, at approximately 11:15 p.m. within the confines of the 109 Precinct. Authorities said a 47-year-old man was standing on the corner of Kissena Boulevard and Main Street when an unidentified individual approached him and started a dispute.
Investigators say the confrontation quickly turned violent.
Police reported that the suspect struck the victim in the face with an unknown object before fleeing the area on foot in an unknown direction. EMS crews responded to the scene and treated the victim for minor injuries.
The NYPD has now released details about the suspect as investigators continue working to identify the individual involved in the attack.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and hair styled in an afro. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants.
Residents in the area are being urged to remain alert and report any information that could help detectives move the investigation forward.
Authorities are also encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have surveillance footage from the area to come forward. Investigators believe local businesses, passing vehicles, or nearby residential security cameras could contain important evidence connected to the case.
