QUEENS, NY - A quiet block in Queens was rocked by a devastating explosion early Thursday morning, leaving 11 people injured—including seven NYPD officers and a firefighter—after a house fire authorities believe is tied to a domestic dispute.

Body Cam footage of the moment the house exploded when cops where trying to enter.

According to officials, the incident unfolded around 3 a.m. in South Ozone Park, when police responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a residential property. What happened next escalated into a dramatic and dangerous scene that first responders won’t soon forget.

Police identified the suspect as 50-year-old Anroop Parasram, who remains unaccounted for but is believed to have died in the fire. Investigators say Parasram allegedly broke into the home of his estranged wife armed with a knife and multiple gasoline canisters.

Authorities believe he may have ignited the fire inside a basement apartment where relatives were staying. Surveillance and body camera footage reportedly show him carrying bags filled with canisters containing a flammable substance.

Parasram had previously lived at the residence and had three expired orders of protection against him, according to police sources.

In newly released NYPD bodycam footage, officers can be seen approaching the home just moments before a massive explosion erupts. The blast was so powerful it knocked multiple officers off their feet and sent some crashing into nearby gates.

Despite the chaos, injured officers quickly regrouped and rushed into the burning home to help those inside.

Officials described the explosion as a “massive fiery blast” that caused immediate structural damage and rapidly spread flames throughout the building.

Four family members inside the home—including the estranged wife, a child, and two grandchildren—managed to escape the blaze. Three of them suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Their escape likely prevented a far worse tragedy, as the fire quickly intensified following the explosion.

The response to the Queens house fire was extensive. The FDNY deployed nearly 300 firefighters and EMS personnel to battle the blaze and assist the injured.

Despite their efforts, the home ultimately collapsed due to the severity of the fire.

Authorities continue to investigate the exact cause of the explosion, though early evidence points to gasoline used as an accelerant. The incident is being treated as a possible domestic violence-related attack.

Officials are also reviewing video evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the full timeline of events.
