Subway Rider Sucker Punches Senior in Random Attack

QUEENS, N.Y. — Police are searching for a suspect after a 65-year-old man was randomly assaulted inside a Queens subway station on Thursday afternoon.



According to investigators, the attack happened around 3:20 p.m. on July 9, 2026, at the Sutphin Blvd-Archer Avenue subway station in Jamaica.


Police said the victim was entering the station through the turnstiles when an unidentified individual approached him without warning and punched him in the face. After the assault, the suspect immediately fled the station on foot in an unknown direction.


Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the 65-year-old victim to NYC Health+Hospitals/Queens, where he was listed in stable condition.


Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, and no arrests have been made as the investigation continues.


The motive behind the assault remains unclear.
