QUEENS - A man asked to stop vaping inside a subway car responded by beating and mugging the straphanger who complained, cops said.

At around 4 pm on September 5, a 36-year-old man was sitting inside a southbound R train approaching the 36th Street station. The man sitting next to him was vaping inside the subway car.

The rider asked the man to stop vaping. Instead the vaper punched the man in the face.

When the train pulled into the station both the dazed victim and the attacker got off the train.

On the subway platform the vaper attacked again. He began punching the man about the head and stole $200 out of the man’s pocket.

The attacker ran out of the station and fled to an unknown direction.

EMS transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/ Elmhurst. There he was given stitches for a laceration to the head.

The suspect is described as a 25-year-old male who is six feet tall and 160 pounds. He has a dark complexion, thin build, brown eyes, black hair and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a red du-rag, a black tank top, pink shorts and blue & white sneakers.
