QUEENS - A female MTA worker was hit in the face with a flying mop at a Queens subway station and police are looking for her attacker.
At around midnight on December 6, a 37-year-old female MTA worker was on duty at the Ditmars Boulevard and 31 Street Subway Station. Cops said the transit worker was standing on the northbound platform of the N train when she was attacked.
According to the NYPD a man picked up a mop and threw it her head like a javelin. The mop struck the MTA worker in the face. That attacker then fled the station.
Cops said the victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by private means.
Investigators said it is unclear why the attacker targeted the MTA worker. The assault appears to be a random attack, cops said.
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion who is between the ages of 30 and 40. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, a multi-color scarf around his neck and a black hat with a white colored logo in the front.
