Smiling Stabber Robs Man’s Phone

Elmhurst Man Stabbed, Robbed  The NYPD is searching for these two men in connection with the stabbing and robbing of a man in Elmhurst. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice January 23, 2024 QUEENS - Cops are looking for a smiling stabbing suspect who is part of a duo accused of slashing and robbing a man in Elmhurst.  At around 3:45 am on December 16, a 25-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of 93rd Street and Elmhurst Avenue, when two men walked up behind him. One of the men pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim in the shoulder.  As the victim staggered from the pain both men pounced. They forcibly removed the victim’s cell phone and wallet which contained cash and a debit card, cops said.  The victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.  The NYPD released surveillance  video in which one of the suspects was seen smiling. Elmhurst Becomes City Hospital to Install Solar Panels

Renewable Energy Comes to NYC Hospitals Elmhurst has become the first NYC hospital to install solar panels. -Photo NYCHHC Queens Voice January 19, 2024 QUEENS – New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) Commissioner Dawn M. Pinnock and NYC Health + Hospitals President and Chief Executive Officer Mitchell Katz, MD, announced the completion of the first-ever solar panel installation at NYC Health + Hospitals. The 55KW installation at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst will supplement the facility’s daily energy use with cleaner, greener, renewable power.   Beginning in March 2020 with the initial design for the project, and completed this past December, the new Elmhurst Hospital solar power system will create power equivalent to that used in approximately 14 New York City households and will supplement the hospital’s existing power needs. Subway Stabbing at Queens Plaza

Subway Rider Stabbed in Leg in Queens The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a stabbing inside a subway train at the Queens Plaza station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice January 18, 2024 QUEENS - A straphanger was stabbed in the leg inside a subway car at Queens Plaza, the NYPD said.  At around 7:30 pm on January 10, a 36-year-old man was onboard a southbound R Train. As the train approached the Queens Plaza station, a man in a red hoodie tried to engage the straphanger in conversation. Cops said then, without warning, the man in the hoodie pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the straphanger in the left leg.  When the train reached the station, the stabber fled the train and took off in an unknown direction.  The victim was transported by private means to Staten Island North University. He was listed in stable condition.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect pacing on the subway platform.   The suspect is described as a male

Jermain Rigueur Arrested for 5 Stabbings in Queens Police said they have made an arrest in the stabbing of five people in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice January 18, 2024 QUEENS - Police have made an arrest in the serial stabbing spree that left five people injured and terrorized Queens residents. The suspect is a greeter at an area hospital. Jermain Rigueur was arrested yesterday for the five stabbings over a 24-hour period, the NYPD announced. The 27-year-old was charged with three counts of attempted murder, four counts of assault, one count of attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, investigators said. Cops said the stabbing spree began around midnight on Jan 16. A 34-year-old woman was walking home in the vicinity of 158 Street & 134 Avenue. Cops said a man came from behind and then stabbed the woman on the right side of the torso. 

Jewel Thieves Make Off with $15 Grand, Shoot Employee

Jewelry Store Robbed, Worker Shot The NYPD is searching for four men who robbed a jewelry store in Corona and shot one of the store's employees. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 21, 2023  QUEENS - A quartet of moped riding jewel thieves shot a worker in Corona and made off with $15,000 worth of jewelry, the NYPD said.  At around 6:30 pm on December 12, three men entered a jewelry store on Junction Boulevard in Corona, Queens. A fourth man stood outside the store acting as a lookout. Cops said the three men pulled out handguns and demanded jewelry.  One of the gunmen fired his weapon hitting a 59-year-old employee in the thigh and grazing him in the head, cops said.  The crooks scooped up $15,000 worth of jewelry and fled on mopeds, cops said. Teen Arrested for Robbing Man at Knifepoint

Teen Charged in Knifepoint Robbery Outside Queens Library  The NYPD arrested a teenager in connection with a robbery at knifepoint outside a library. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice December 20, 2023 QUEENS - The NYPD arrested a 15-year old male in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a man outside a Queens library back in October.  Cops announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male who was charged with robbery, grand larceny and menacing. The suspect’s name was not released given the fact that he is a minor. At around 1 am on October 22, a 38-year-old man was walking outside the Queens Library on 104th Street. Cops said two young suspects ran up to him, pulled out a knife and placed the blade against the victim’s stomach. The other suspect rumaged through the victim’s pockets and removed a wallet and credit cards.

Elderly Woman Mugged in Sunnyside  The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with an assault and robbery of an elderly woman in Sunnyside, Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 19, 2023  QUEENS - A pair of muggers knocked an 82-year-old woman to the ground and robbed her in Sunnyside, Queens, cops said.  At around 2:30 pm on December 14, an 82-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 48 Street and Skillman Avenue. Cops said two men walked up behind the woman and knocked her to the ground. While the woman struggled to get up, the muggers riffled through her suitcase and removed cash.  Cops said the attackers then hopped into a blue Mazda SUV and drove north on 48 Street.  The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.  The suspects were caught on street surveillance video. Man Robbed on Subway Platform in Jackson Heights  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a robbery at a Queens subway station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 18, 2023  QUEENS - A straphanger had his wallet containing $1,000 ripped from his hand while waiting for a train at the Jackson Heights subway station.  At around 10:15 pm on December 9, a 21-year-old was standing on the subway platform for the E Train at the Roosevelt Avenue – Jackson Heights Station station. Cops said a man walked up to him grabbed the wallet out of the straphanger’s hands.  The robber ran off.  Cops said the wallet contained the victim’s debit card and $1,000 cash.  The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and dark colored sneakers.
