At around 2:30 pm on September 6, the suspect was inside a bar at 45-01 23 Avenue in Queens. Cops said the man tore down a pride flag that was hanging in the bar and ran out.
The NYPD released surveillance video which showed the suspect walking down the street carrying the stolen flag. The alleged thief is then seen on camera pulling a knife out of his pocket and cutting the flag in half.
Cops said the suspect then began calling the bar where the flag was stolen and threatened workers and unleashed a flurry of anti-gay slurs.
The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and medium build with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with a design on the breast pocket. He also wore pink pants and white sneakers.
