The NYPD released new surveillence images of a suspect in the shocking attack. In the video the man is dressed all in black and sporting a black knit winter cap.
According to police, the incident occurred around 6:17 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and 94th Street in East Elmhurst, Queens. The location is a busy commuter area along the Q49 bus route and just a few blocks from LaGuardia Airport.
Authorities say the victim was standing at the bus stop during the early morning commute when she was suddenly approached from behind by an unidentified man in what police describe as a woman stabbed while waiting at Queens bus stop during morning commute.
Without warning, the suspect displayed a knife and began stabbing the woman multiple times in a violent unprovoked knife attack at a public bus stop in Queens.
Police report that the attacker struck the victim in the back and left arm before fleeing the scene. Despite the severity of the attack, the woman survived the multiple stab wounds sustained in random attack in East Elmhurst.
EMS responded quickly and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she is currently listed in stable condition after the early morning commuter stabbing incident in Queens New York.
