Rolex Sellers Sprayed in Face by Muggers

Police are searching for this man in connection with a string of robberies in which thieves spray an unknown substance in the victims' eyes and steal their items.

QUEENS - Seller beware. A robbery crew is targeting people looking to sell high-end items like Rolex watches and luxury handbags to people they meet online. In each of the cases the muggers spray a substance in the victim’s eyes before taking their bling. 


The first case took place around 1 pm on November 19 in Fresh Meadows. Investigators said a 21-year-old man was meeting a seller for his Rolex watch in front of 73-46 194 Street. Before the sale could be carried out the would-be buyers sprayed an unknown substance in the victim’s face. As he doubled over clawing at his eyes, the crew pulled the watch off his hand and fled. 




At around 6:20 pm on November 23, a 32-year-old man agreed to meet a man to sell his watch at  156th Street and Horace Harding Expressway near the Herald Mission Center in East Flushing. When the “buyers” arrived they sprayed a substance in the victim’s face and removed his watch. 




The latest attack occurred on December 12. At around 4:50 pm, a 23-year-old woman was in front of 81-23 189 Street near Cunningham Park in Fresh Meadows looking to sell a handbag to the person she contacted previously. The “buyers” arrived and sprayed her in the face with the unknown substance. They ripped the expensive handbag from her hands and ran off. 




In all three cases the victims only suffered minor injuries. 




Police released photos from a home owner’s cameras in the first robbery. The photos show one of the crew walking by himself as he approached his victim. The second photo shows the two other suspects walking together as they arrived to help steal the Rolex.

The victim has been identified as 19-year-old Curtis Moe of Brooklyn. An investigation revealed that Moe was shot in the chest in front of 178-16 Leslie Road.

Scooter Muggers Strike in Queens

Police are searching for two men in connection with the mugging of scooters in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice May 18, 2023 QUEENS - Cops are looking for a pair of muggers who have assaulted riders and stole their scooters in Queens.  At around 8 pm on April 25, a 40-year-old man was riding a motorized scooter. Two men ran up alongside him and shoved him off the scooter. As the man lay in the street, the attackers hopped on the scooter and headed westbound on Roosevelt Avenue.  Two hours later the pair struck again. At around 10 pm, a 28-year-old man was riding his motorized scooter in the vicinity of 3510 College Point Boulevard.  The muggers rode up alongside him on another scooter. The man on the back of the scooter shoved the victim off his scooter. As the victim fell to the floor and lay in the street, one of the muggers picked up the victim’s scooter and the pair drove off southbound on College Point Boulevard.  Police released su

Walk-By Shooting in Queens

Gunman Sought by Cops The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a shooting in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice March 18, 2024 QUEENS - Cops are looking for a man who opened fire on a Queens street. At around 5:45 pm on March 12, a 26-year-old male was standing in front of 76-07 160th Street. Cops said a man in a black coat and a black face covering ran up and pulled out a gun. The gunman fired multiple rounds at the victim but missed. The gunman then ran away on in an unknown direction. However, cops recovered surveillance video of the suspect from a nearby house. The suspect is described as an 18-year-old male with a medium complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing all black clothing, black face covering, multi-color sneakers and black book bag.
