QUEENS - Cops are looking for a pair of burglars who broke into a Bayside home and made off with $250,000 in cash and jewelry.
At around 3 am on May 1, two men made their way to a house in the vicinity of 202 Street and 28 Avenue. Cops said the pair picked the lock to the front door and slipped inside the house which was not occupied at the time.
The burglars were caught on surveillance cameras inside the home in the kitchen and living room as they walked through the residence when they came upon a safe. Cops say the men then removed the safe from the home and fled in an unknown direction.
The stolen safe contained approximately $50,000 in cash and over $200,000 in jewelry, investigators said.
Police released surveillance video of the suspects from inside the home. Both men have light complexions and wore surgical masks. One of the suspects has black hair and was seen wearing glasses and was holding a bag or sack at the time. The other suspect was seen wearing a dark hoodie and dark sneakers.
