QUEENS - Maybe the thieves just needed some hair care products when they allegedly robbed a beauty supply store in Queens. Cops are looking for a trio of shower cap-wearing women who are suspected of being part of a group of eight  robbers who beat a store clerk who tried to stop them from stealing, investigators said.

Police released surveillance video of the group of eight suspects, three males and five females, who allegedly robbed and assaulted a store employee inside a beauty supply store in Ridgewood.

At around 5:47 pm on June 18, a group of eight people walked into the beauty supply store at 54-24 Myrtle Avenue. Cops said as the group milled around the store, one of the members removed merchandise and tried to walk out of the store without paying.

According to police, a 27-year-old female employee chased after the group to confront them about the theft and to try to take back the stolen merchandise. That’s when things turned violent.

Members of the group pulled the clerk outside the store and began wailing on her, cops said. Investigators did not disclose how many members participated in the beating of the lone worker but said she was punched repeatedly throughout her body.

With the clerk on the ground, the attackers fled down Myrtle Avenue.

EMS transported the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. She is listed in stable condition.

Police released photos from surveillance cameras of the suspects. All the suspects have a dark complexions. Three of the women were seen on camera wearing shower caps.
