QUEENS - A woman was sexually assaulted, beaten and robbed across the street from the future site of a mosque in Ozone Park, cops said.
At around 9:30 pm on October 26, a 26-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of Glenmore Avenue and 76 Street. Across the street bears the sign of a mosque that is planned to be built there.
Cops said two men ran up to the woman and then began groping her chest and private area. Then one of the attackers punched the victim in the face while the other began rifling through her pockets. The attackers removed cash, headphones and a cellphone.
The muggers ran off northbound on 80 Street from Liberty Avenue.
Cops said the victim was not hospitalized.
The first suspect is described as a male with a slim build and a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants with white stripes, and dark-colored sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a male with a medium build and a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt and tan pants.
