Thug Pushes 93-Year-Old Woman to Ground Because She was ‘In His Way’

According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday morning, January 22, 2026, at approximately 8:50 a.m., near the intersection of 81st Street and 41st Avenue, within the confines of the NYPD’s 110th Precinct.
Investigators say the elderly victim was standing at the intersection when an unidentified individual approached her and ordered her to move. Moments later, the suspect pushed the woman, causing her to fall to the ground and strike her head on the sidewalk.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot, traveling northbound on 81st Street, police said.
Emergency medical services responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where she was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD has released images of the individual believed to be responsible and is urging anyone who may recognize the suspect or have information about the incident to come forward.
Police emphasize that even seemingly minor details can be critical in identifying suspects involved in violent crimes against elderly residents, a category of offenses that continues to draw increased attention across New York City.
Investigators released surveillance video from inside a local grocery store of the suspect. He is described as a male with a medium complexion and medium build, He has a bald head that appears to be shaved. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and an orange shirt underneath.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been announced as of publication time. Detectives assigned to the 110 Precinct are continuing to review surveillance footage from the surrounding area and follow up on leads provided by the public.
Residents are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and to report suspicious activity, especially when it involves vulnerable members of the community.
