62-Year-Old Man Suffers Fractured Skull After Assault at Queens 7 Train Station

QUEENS, N.Y. — A 62-year-old man suffered a fractured skull after being pushed during an apparent dispute at a Queens subway station Saturday afternoon, police said.

Authorities said the incident occurred on July 25, 2026, at around 4:05 p.m. at the Vernon Boulevard–Jackson Avenue station on the northbound Number 7 train platform.

Police said the victim had just exited a northbound 7 train when he became involved in a verbal dispute with an unidentified individual. The confrontation quickly turned violent when the suspect allegedly shoved the victim.

The force of the push caused the 62-year-old man to fall backward, striking his head against a pillar on the subway platform. He suffered a fractured skull and a laceration to the back of his head.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect fled the station on foot and remains at large. No arrests have been made, and police have not released a description of the individual involved.
