Phony Plumbers Taser, Rob Queens Man During Brazen Home Invasion

QUEENS, N.Y. — A man posing as a plumber was part of a violent home invasion in Queens that ended with a 36-year-old resident being tased, tied up and robbed, according to police.
The attack happened around 12:45 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026, near 35th Avenue and 97th Street.
Police said three unidentified suspects entered the victim's home without permission before assaulting him. During the robbery, the suspects used a Taser on the 36-year-old man and bound his hands behind his back.
The crew then stole the victim's keys and personal identification card before making their getaway.
Investigators said the suspects fled in a white van displaying New Jersey temporary plate L313488 and remain at large.
The victim suffered minor injuries but declined medical treatment at the scene.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and have not released descriptions of the suspects. Anyone with information about the home invasion is urged to contact the NYPD or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
