QUEENS LOCAL NEWS - Cops say they have the suspected subway slasher who cut up the faces of two men waiting on a train platform at a Queens subway station. Video of the attacks went viral on social media.

The NYPD announced the arrest of 28-year-old Tyquan Manassa. He was charged with four counts of assault in connection with the double slashing. Investigators said they linked Manassa to the slashing spree while investigating an incident at a homeless shelter on Ward’s Island

Cops arrested Tyquan Manassa in connection with the double slashings.

Cops said Manassa was arrested for throwing a fire extinguisher, overthrowing tables and knocking over an ice machine at the facility. He had been staying at the shelter and it is unclear what triggered the outburst.

Following the shelter meltdown, cops said, Manassa went to the Kew Gardens subway station and attacked two commuters.

At around 3:15 pm on November 19, a 42-year-old was waiting on the platform when he was approached from behind by a man dressed all in black. The man took out a sharp object and slashed the commuter across the forehead.

Cops said a few minutes later, the suspect attacked a second victim. A 50-year-old man waiting on another platform was approached from behind. The attacker slashed him across the face and then ran off.

EMS responded quickly, taking the 42-year-old victim to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital and the 50-year-old victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Both victims are listed in stable condition.
