QUEENS LOCAL NEWS - Cops are looking for a Covid inspired gunman who struck a Queens chicken joint and a nail salon within a 24 hour period. The suspect was caught on surveillance video wearing a paper mask and surgical gloves.

Police are searching for a man who’s been hitting small businesses in Queens — and they’re asking for your help to track him down.

According to the NYPD, the same suspect is wanted for two armed robberies that happened just a day apart, one in the 116th Precinct and the other in the 106th.

The first incident happened  around 3 a.m. on October 25, 2025, at a Checkers takeout on 245th Street near South Conduit Avenue

Investigators say a man in a mask walked in, pulled a gun on a 21-year-old employee, and demanded the cash register be opened. The worker handed over about $150 before the gunman took off running east on South Conduit Avenue. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Less than 24 hours later, police say the same man struck again — this time a nail salon in Ozone Park. At around 6:50 p.m. on Sunday, the suspect walked teh salon and allegedly pointed a gun at a 52-year-old employee. He grabbed a bag full of electronic devices before jumping into a Dodge Durango and speeding off down 107th Street. Again, no injuries were reported.

Cops say the man they’re looking for was last seen wearing a surgical mask, a blue sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. Surveillance images from the first robbery have been released and are available through the NYPD’s DCPI media site.
