Elderly Woman Choked During Purse Snatching

Knocked to the Ground During Robbery The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a violent purse snatching in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice April 12, 2024 QUEENS - A Queens woman was choked and knocked to the ground during an early morning purse snatching attempt, cops said. At around 6:20 am on April 8, a 62-year-old woman was walking on Hampton Street. Cops said a man ran up behind her and grabbed the woman by the neck. He then dragged her to the ground and tried to yank her purse away but was unable. The attacker ran away on Hampton Street empty-handed, cops said. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene. The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect. He is described as a male in his 20s who has a light complexion. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, red pants, and white sneakers. Churchgoer Knocked Down Stone Stairs, Robbed of Car by Teen, Cops Say  The NYPD arrested a 16-year-old male in connection with an attack on an elderly woman outside a Queens church. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  April 12, 2024  QUEENS - Cops arrested a 16-year-old for the vicious sucker punch attack on an elderly woman in front of a Queens church. The punch knocked the woman down the stone staircase of the church and left her in critical condition, cops said.  The NYPD announced the arrest of a 16-year-old male in connection with the April 7th attack. The teen was charged with robbery, assault, grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.  At around 8:30 am on April 7, a 68-year-old woman was standing at the doors to the Saint Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church. Cop Struck with Glass Bottle from Elevated Subway Station

Man Threw Bottle at Cop from Subway Platform  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault on a police officer with a glass bottle. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  April 11, 2024  QUEENS - A police officer suffered a concussion when he was struck in the head with a glass bottle from an elevated subway platform. Cops released a photo of the suspect, they say, purposely threw the bottle at the officer.  At around 1:50 am on April 8, a man was standing on the elevated subway platform of the Number 7 train at 103-28 Roosevelt Avenue. Cops said the suspect threw a glass bottle at an on-duty NYPD police officer. The bottle struck the officer causing a laceration.  EMS rushed the officer to Elmhurst Hospital.  Officials said the officer suffered a concussion but is in stable condition.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the suspect who is described as a male who is between the ages of 28 and 35. High School Student Sought for Hate Crime? The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with the drawing of a swastika on a Queens resident's car. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice April 11, 2024 QUEEN S - Cops are looking into a suspect, who looks like a high school student, for a hate crime in Queens. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating an act of vandalism that appears more sinister.  At around 5:47 pm on March 30, cops said a young male in a white hoodie and glasses and a backpack was seen at the rear of a Honda Pilot parked in front of 66-65 70 Street in Middle Village. Cops said the young suspect dew a swastika on the rear bumper of the car before fleeing on foot.  An investigation led cops to find surveillance video of the suspect taken from inside a local grocery store.  The suspect is described as a male who is 5 foot 6 and has a light complexion and slim build. Grenade Found Outside Queens Bank

Subway Service Shutdown when  Grenade Found Under El Station The Bomb Squad was called to Ozone Park to investigate a grenade found outside a Chase Bank. -Photo by Citizen By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  April 9, 2024  QUEENS - A tense moment played out in Queens when a grenade was found in front of a Chase Bank underneath an elevated subway station. The Bomb Squad recovered the grenade in Ozone Park. No word if the device was inert or not.  At around 11:30 am today, cops were called to a report of a suspicious device found inside a plastic bag in front of the Chase Bank at the corner of 112th Street and Liberty Avenue.  Subway service was order to bypass the station as police closed down the block. The NYPD’s Bomb Squad recovered the device which appears to be a grenade. Officials would not comment on whether the device was active.  After the scene was investigated and the device was removed, subway service resumed at around 2 pm. 

2 Teens Arrested in Knifepoint Robbery in Queens

Cops Nab 2 Out of 3 for Mugging of Man, Age 66 The NYPD is searching for the last suspect of a trio who robbed a Queens man at knifepoint. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice April 9, 2024 QUEENS - Cops nabbed two teens out of a trio who robbed a 66-year-old Queens man at knifepoint.  The NYPD announced the arrest of a 17-year-old male on three counts of robbery. They also arrested 18-year-old Jay-R Parmachand of Queens. He was charged with three counts of robbery. Police did not disclose the name of the 17-year-old because he is a minor.  A third suspect is still wanted by police. Investigators are hoping the released surveillance video will lead to his arrest as it did his alleged accomplices.  At around 4 am on March 29, a 66-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of 134 Street and Grand Central Parkway service road in Briarwood. Three males ran up to him and displayed a knife demanding money.  Cops said the robbers removed the victim’s shoulder bag and fled on
