Jewel Thieves Make Off with $15 Grand, Shoot Employee

Jewelry Store Robbed, Worker Shot The NYPD is searching for four men who robbed a jewelry store in Corona and shot one of the store's employees. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 21, 2023  QUEENS - A quartet of moped riding jewel thieves shot a worker in Corona and made off with $15,000 worth of jewelry, the NYPD said.  At around 6:30 pm on December 12, three men entered a jewelry store on Junction Boulevard in Corona, Queens. A fourth man stood outside the store acting as a lookout. Cops said the three men pulled out handguns and demanded jewelry.  One of the gunmen fired his weapon hitting a 59-year-old employee in the thigh and grazing him in the head, cops said.  The crooks scooped up $15,000 worth of jewelry and fled on mopeds, cops said. Teen Arrested for Robbing Man at Knifepoint

Teen Charged in Knifepoint Robbery Outside Queens Library  The NYPD arrested a teenager in connection with a robbery at knifepoint outside a library. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice December 20, 2023 QUEENS - The NYPD arrested a 15-year old male in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a man outside a Queens library back in October.  Cops announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male who was charged with robbery, grand larceny and menacing. The suspect’s name was not released given the fact that he is a minor. At around 1 am on October 22, a 38-year-old man was walking outside the Queens Library on 104th Street. Cops said two young suspects ran up to him, pulled out a knife and placed the blade against the victim’s stomach. The other suspect rumaged through the victim’s pockets and removed a wallet and credit cards. 

Muggers Knock Woman, 82, to the Ground

Elderly Woman Mugged in Sunnyside  The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with an assault and robbery of an elderly woman in Sunnyside, Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 19, 2023  QUEENS - A pair of muggers knocked an 82-year-old woman to the ground and robbed her in Sunnyside, Queens, cops said.  At around 2:30 pm on December 14, an 82-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 48 Street and Skillman Avenue. Cops said two men walked up behind the woman and knocked her to the ground. While the woman struggled to get up, the muggers riffled through her suitcase and removed cash.  Cops said the attackers then hopped into a blue Mazda SUV and drove north on 48 Street.  The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.  The suspects were caught on street surveillance video. Man Robbed on Subway Platform in Jackson Heights  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a robbery at a Queens subway station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 18, 2023  QUEENS - A straphanger had his wallet containing $1,000 ripped from his hand while waiting for a train at the Jackson Heights subway station.  At around 10:15 pm on December 9, a 21-year-old was standing on the subway platform for the E Train at the Roosevelt Avenue – Jackson Heights Station station. Cops said a man walked up to him grabbed the wallet out of the straphanger’s hands.  The robber ran off.  Cops said the wallet contained the victim’s debit card and $1,000 cash.  The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion and a slim build. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants and dark colored sneakers.

‘Bad Boy’ Beats Man with Bike Lock at Subway Station

Man Beaten with Bike Lock The NYPD is searching for a man wearing a jacket with the words "Bad Boy" in connection with an assault. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice December 17, 2023 QUEENS - The NYPD is searching for a man wearing a jacket that says “Bad Boy” for allegedly striking a man in the head with a bike lock. At around 2 am on October 11,   a 26-year-old male was walking in the vicinity of Queens Boulevard and Union Turnpike train station. Cops said without warning, a man walked up behind him and hit him in the back of the head with a metal lock.  The attack caused a laceration on the victim’s head. The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The suspect fled on foot. However, surveillance video from a nearby train station captured an image of the suspect when he went through the turnstile.

MTA Worker Attacked - Struck in Face with Flying Mop

MTA Worker Hit in Face in Subway Station Attack - NYPD Says  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault on an MTA employee. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 15, 2023  QUEENS - A female MTA worker was hit in the face with a flying mop at a Queens subway station and police are looking for her attacker.  At around midnight on December 6, a 37-year-old female MTA worker was on duty at the Ditmars Boulevard and 31 Street Subway Station. Cops said the transit worker was standing on the northbound platform of the N train when she was attacked.  According to the NYPD a man picked up a mop and threw it her head like a javelin. The mop struck the MTA worker in the face. That attacker then fled the station.  Cops said the victim sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital by private means.  Investigators said it is unclear why the attacker targeted the MTA worker. The assault appears to be a random attack, cops said. 

Sneaker Thief Steals 20 Pairs of Kicks from Home

Burglar Steals $2000 Worth of Sneakers from Queens House  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with the theft of $2,000 worth of sneakers from a Queens home. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 15, 2023  QUEENS - A sneaker thief was caught on surveillance video stealing 20 pairs of kicks from a house in Bayside, Queens.  At around 4:30 am on December 2, a home surveillance camera recorded a man crawling through the backyard of a home on Bay Street. The man hops over a fence and then proceeds to gain entrance to the home through an open window.  Cops said the man removed 20 pairs of sneakers and jewelry before fleeing from the home. Cops said the 20 pairs of sneakers are valued at $2,000. Gunman Steals $1,500 Worth of Smokes, Weed Products from Smoke Shop  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with the armed robbery of a Queens smoke shop. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 13, 2023  QUEENS - A gunman was caught on surveillance video sticking up a Queens smoke shop for smokes and weed products, the NYPD said.  At around 10 am on December 8, a man wearing a black hoodie walked into a smoke shop on Jamaica Avenue. Store surveillance video shows the man pointing a gun at the store employee demanding cash.  The suspect is then seen on video hopping over the counter and removing cash, cigarettes and marijuana products. He then fled the store without incident.  Cops said the robber stole $1,360 worth of cigarettes, $808 worth of marijuana products and an undetermined amount of cash.  The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion who is between the ages of 18 and 25.
