Mob Steals Thousands Worth of Sunglasses from Mall in Queens The NYPD is searching for members of a flash mob that stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of sunglasses at a Queens Mall. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice February 15, 2024 QUEENS - A flash mob that hit a Queens mall twice made of with nearly $40,000 in sunglasses when they robbed displays of glasses, the NYPD said. Cops said the same crew struck at the same mall within weeks of each other last month. At around 7 pm on January 8, a group of black clad robbers walked into a mall on Roosevelt Avenue. The group went to the Sunglass Hut and removed displays of sunglasses, cops said. The group then ran out of the mall. Cops said the stolen merchandise is valued at $16,780. Teen Arrested in Subway Mugging in Queens

Teen Charged in Robbery, Assault on Subway A 15-year-old male has been arrested in conenction with a mugging on a Queens subway. A second suspect is being sought. -File Photo By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice February 8, 2024 QUEENS - Cops arrested a Queens teenager in connection with the vicious mugging on a subway platform.  The NYPD announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male. He was charged with two counts of robbery. Police would not release the suspect’s name because he is a minor.  At around 3:40 pm on January 8, a 17-year-old male was standing on the platform for the L Train when he was approached by two males. Cops said without warning the two males began wailing on the victim.  The attackers repeatedly punched the victim while trying to remove his cellphone. Instead, cops said, the robbers only managed to remove $12 from the victim before running off.  Cops said another suspect is being sought in the mugging.  Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the

Pair Wanted for Beating, Shooting Straphanger with Gel Gun in Queens

Police are searching for these men in connection with a beating and attempted shooting of a gel gun on the F Train. By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 6, 2022  QUEENS - Police released new photos of a pair of suspects who are wanted for beating, shooting a straphanger with a gel gun on a Queens subway platform.  At around 4:30 pm on November 6, a 34-year-old man was riding a southbound Number 7 train when he was approached by two men. Cops say the pair first harassed the straphanger and then things got violent.  The men began punching the victim and even firing a shot at him from a gel gun. The attackers tried to rip the victim’s gold chain off his neck. Before they broke the chain, the victim broke free and ran to another subway car towards the front of the train.  The straphanger got off the train at the 74th Street and Roosevelt Avenue Station. But his attackers followed. They caught up with their victim and smacked him across the face.

High-End Chain Snatchers Wanted in Queens

Police say chain snatchers used this Honda Civic as a getaway car. By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice November 30, 2022  QUEENS - Police released new photos of a car used in a series of high-end chain snatching in Jamaica, Queens.  The NYPD released new photos of a gray Honda Civic used in at least two robberies. One of the victims gave a partial plate of 5426. The first incident took place at around 7:10 pm on October 25 in South Jamaica. At the corner of 123 Avenue and 144th Street, two men ran up behind a 16-year-old male. The robbers tried to remove the teen’s necklace. When he turned to stop them, one of the pair pulled out a handgun. The robbers then removed the necklace and fled in the Honda Civic.  Police said the necklace is valued at $2,000.  The robbers struck again five days later. At around 4:25 am on October 30, a 53-year-old man was exiting his vehicle at 195-41 Jamaica Avenue. The robbers ran up behind him and tried to rip the chain from his neck.

Group Beat, Stomped Man in Jackson Heights for His Phone Subscribe in a reader By Dan Gesslein, July 31, 2020  A group of muggers, some as young as 16, punched, kicked and stomped on a defenseless man in Jackson Heights. The brutal attack was caught on camera.  The NYPD released the disturbing video in an attempt to apprehend the group attackers.   At around 2:20 am on July 25, a group of seven men jumped a 40-year-old man on the corner of 90th Street and 37th Avenue.      The NYPD released stills from a surveillance of a Queens mugging. The video shows that as the victim lay on the ground defenseless, the attackers punched, kicked and stomped him.
