Gunman Menaces Straphangers on Queens Subway Platform  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a menacing with a gun inside a Queens subway station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice January 31, 2024 QUEENS - A man with a gun terrorized straphangers inside a Queens train station when he posed as if he was going to shoot riders during rush hour, the NYPD said.  At around 5 pm on January 23, a man covered with a face mask and hoodie, exited an E train at the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue Station. Cops said the man then pulled out a handgun and “stood in shooting stance on the train platform causing public alarm.”  No shots were fired and the gunman ran off in an unknown direction.  The suspect was caught on surveillance cameras coming out of the subway car. Hot Head Opens Fire During Arguement

By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice December 7, 2022  QUEENS - A heated arguement turned into fists and then bullets flying outside the construction site of a new affordable housing building in Jamaica.  At around 6:50 pm on December 6, a 22-year-old man got into an argument with an older man outside 132-77 Metropolitan Avenue. The heated argument turned physical when the two men began to fight each other.  Apparently the older man was getting the worst of it because he pulled out a handgun and fired it towards the ground. Luckily no one was injured.  The gunman then fled on foot northbound towards Metropolitan Avenue.  No injuries were reported.  A witness captured an image of the gunman on a cell phone. The suspect is described as a man in his mid 30s with a light complexion. He weighs around 250 pounds and has a large build with short, dark hair. Cell Phone Store Stickup Caught on Camera

Subscribe in a reader By Dan Gesslein, October 28, 2020  A cell phone store stickup in Flushing was caught on camera and the NYPD is hoping the public can help them catch the robbers.  At around 6:30 pm on October 12, two men walked into the Metro PCS store at 75-25 Parsone Boulevard and approached the clerk at the counter. Surveillance video captured the scene as one of the men pulled out a gun. The accomplice then went behind the counter and proceeded to stuff 12 cell phones inside a black duffel bag he was carrying.  As his partner loaded up the phones, the gunman opened the register and stuffed the cash in his own pocket. Investigators said he made off with $522 in cash.  Then before the pair left, the gunman took the employee’s cell phone which was sitting on the counter.  The gunman is described as a male with a dark complexion and a medium build, last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue face mask, yellow and blac...
