Investigators said the man tried to rape the woman on the mezzanine in the station and was only stopped when a Good Samaritan intervened. Police arrested Donovan Simon, 19, of Queens. He was charged with attempted rape, unlawful imprisonment, assault and lewdness. At around midnight on February 24, a 20-year-old woman exited a Queens-bound F Train at the 169th Street station when a man followed her. Cops said when the woman reached the mezzanine the man pounced, punching her multiple times. He covered her face while continuing to punch her and then pushed her to the ground, investigators said.
