Gunman Wearing ‘South Park’ Shirt Opens Fire Inside Queens Restaurant The NYPD is searching for a man dressed in a "South Park" sweatshirt in connection with a shooting inside a Queens restaurant. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  January 2, 2024  QUEENS - A gunman sporting a “South Park” sweatshirt opened fire on a customer inside a Queens restaurant over the weekend, the NYPD said.  At around 3:30 am on December 29, a man wearing a “South Park” sweatshirt walked into Wild Onion Restaurant and Lounge, at 119-10 Merrick Blvd. Cops said the suspect saw a 39-year-old man inside the restaurant and pulled out a handgun.  The gunman fired off multiple rounds and struck the victim in the shoulder and torso several times.  The gunman then ran out of the restaurant and was last seen fleeing south on Merrick Boulevard.  The victim was taken by private meant to Jamaica Medical Center where he was treated for the multiple gunshot wounds. The NYPD is searching for a slipper wearing suspect and his accomplice in connection with a double shooting in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice November 8, 2023 NEW YORK - A Good Samaritan suffered a major scare on Halloween when he was shot trying to stop a pair of gunmen from robbing a Queens man, the NYPD said. Both the Good Samaritan and the victim were shot by the robbers.  At around 1 am on October 31, a 28-year-old was in front of 161st Street and Jewel Avenue in Pomonok, Queens when two men dressed in black approached him. The men jumped on the victim and forcibly tried to remove his property. 

Animal Cruelty Charges - 45 Dogs Rescued

Photo by ASPCA QUEENS - A Queens man was charged with animal cruelty after police found 45 dogs living in their own filth inside and deprived of food and water inside the defendant’s house.  Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Fred Thomson has been charged with failure to provide proper care to animals for allegedly keeping more than 45 dogs and puppies in unsanitary conditions in his Broad Channel home.  “Animals are voiceless members of our community who deserve proper care and sustenance,” Katz said. “In my time as the District Attorney, I have seen far too many cases of cruelty to these sentient beings, who feel pain and suffer distress much in the same way people do. Although there is a dire need for stronger animal cruelty penalties in our state, my office will continue to hold accountable those who choose to neglect or torture defenseless animals in Queens County.
