Man Struck in Head with Metal Pipe at Queens Plaza Subway Station

Metal Pipe Attack at Queens Plaza Station The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with an assault on a straphanger with a metal pipe. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice February 18, 2024 QUEENS - A day after a Brazilian tourist was slashed across the neck at the Queens Plaza subway station, a man was beaten with a metal pipe at the same station in an another apparent random attack. At around 1 am on February 17, a 31-year-old man was standing on the platform at Queens Plaza Subway Station. Cops said an unknown male approached the straphanger and started arguing with him. The man walked off. Cops said the man came back with a metal pipe and repeatedly struck the straphanger in the head with the pipe. The attacker fled the scene and out of the station on foot. EMS rushed the victim to Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center where he was treated for lacerations about the head. He is listed in stable condition. Tourist Neck Slashed at Subway Station   The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a slashing of a Brazilian tourist at a Queens subway station. -Photo by NYPD 2nd Brazilian Tourist Wounded in NYC in 2 Weeks By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  February 16, 2024  QUEENS - A Brazilian tourist was slashed across the neck at a Queens subway station during what is being called an unprovoked attack, the NYPD said.  At around 10:30 am on February 15, a 29-year-old tourist from Brazil was standing on the mezzanine level of the Queens Plaza subway station on the "E, M, R" line. Cops said without warning a man dressed in a black balaclava and gray hoodie walked up behind him and slashed the left side of the tourist’s neck with a knife.  The knife-totting suspect ran out of the station but not before his image was captured on subway surveillance cameras.  The victim was rushed by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital. ‘Family is Everything’ Written on Knife-Wielding Suspect’s Hoodie The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a knifepoint robbery inside a Queens cellphone store. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice February 15, 2024 QUEENS - A man wearing a hoodie that had the words “Family is Everything” written on it, robbed an elderly cellphone store employee at knifepoint the NYPD said. At around 2:45 pm on February 6, a man in a blue hoodie walked into a MetroPCS cellphone store at 86-24 Rockaway Boulevard. Cops said the man pulled out a knife and put it to the throat of a 71-year-old male store employee.  The knife-wielding man took $150 cash off the worker and took cellphones from the store valued at $1,615, cops said. The suspect wore a blue hoodie with the words "Family is Everything" written on it. The NYPD released surveillance video which shows the suspect walking out of the store with a large shopping bag. Man, Age 69, Assaulted on Queens Bus The NYPD is seaching for this man in connection with the assault on a 69-year-old male on a Queens bus. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice February 13, 2024  QUEENS - A 69-year-old man was violently assaulted on an MTA bus in Flushing, cops said.  At around 3:20 pm on February 8, the 69-year-old man was riding on a northbound Q44 bus in the vicinity of Main Street and Kissena Boulevard. Cops said the bus rider was approached by a man he did not know who began arguing with him.  Suddenly the man began punching the elderly rider in the face and head over and over again, cops said.  The suspect hopped off the bus and ran away.  The victim sustained injuries to his left eye and ear. He was transported to New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital where was listed in stable condition.  The NYPD released surveillance video from inside the bus. Teen Charged in Robbery, Assault on Subway A 15-year-old male has been arrested in conenction with a mugging on a Queens subway. A second suspect is being sought. -File Photo By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice February 8, 2024 QUEENS - Cops arrested a Queens teenager in connection with the vicious mugging on a subway platform.  The NYPD announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male. He was charged with two counts of robbery. Police would not release the suspect’s name because he is a minor.  At around 3:40 pm on January 8, a 17-year-old male was standing on the platform for the L Train when he was approached by two males. Cops said without warning the two males began wailing on the victim.  The attackers repeatedly punched the victim while trying to remove his cellphone. Instead, cops said, the robbers only managed to remove $12 from the victim before running off.  Cops said another suspect is being sought in the mugging.  Anyone with information in regard to this incident is asked to call the

Crazed Straphanger Slashes Man on Queens Bus

Rider Slashed on MTA Bus in Queens  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a slashing inside an MTA bus in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice February 7, 2024 QUEENS - A crazed straphanger slashed a fellow rider with a box cutter inside an MTA bus near Queens College, the NYPD said. Surveillance video from inside the bus appears to show the suspect holding the box cutter before the attack. At around 5 pm on January 22, a 57-year-old man was riding on an MTA bus at the intersection of Main Street and Melbourne Avenue, near Cedar Grove Cemetery when another rider started arguing with him. Cops said the man who was seen holding a camo backpack, took a box cutter and slashed the rider in the arm and chest.  The attacker jumped out of the bus and fled in an unknown direction.  EMS rushed the victim to Presbyterian Queens Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.  The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, medium build and a mustache.

Cops Make Arrest in Random Attack on Man, Age 65

Man, 65, Punched in Face in Flushing The NYPD made an arrest in the random attack on a 65-year-old man in Flushing. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice February 5, 2024 QUEEN S - Cops arrested a Queens man in the random attack on a 65-year-old man in Flushing.  The NYPD has announced the arrest of 39-year-old Augusto Pacheco of Frankin Avenue. Pacheco has been charged with second degree assault in the unprovoked attack on a senior.  At around 9:45 am on January 12, a 65-year-old man was walking in the vicinity of Franklin Avenue and Union Street. Cops said a man in a bright orange hoodie and sunglasses walked up to him and punched the senior in the face, causing the man to fall to the ground.  The suspect ran off but not before his image was captured on street surveillance video. The victim was treated at New York- Presbyterian Queens Hospital.
