Woman Robbed at Knifepoint in Broad Daylight on New Year's Day

Robber Uses Knife on Woman in Corona  The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a knifepoint robbery of a woman in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  January 9, 2024  QUEENS - A Corona woman was robbed at knife point in broad daylight on New Year’s Day, the NYPD said.  At around 2:50 pm on January 1, a 21-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 42 Avenue and 97 Place in Corona. Cops said a man wearing a “Buffalo University” hoodie ran up to her and pulled out a knife. He placed the knife to the victim’s chest and removed cash from the woman.  The robber then ran off northbound on National Street from 43 Avenue.  The victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst where she was listed in stable condition. It is unclear if she was injured in the attack.  The NYPD released a photo of the suspect. He is described as a 35-year-old man with a medium complexion and a heavy build. Robber Pushes Way into Elderly Woman’s Home, Robs Her The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with a push-in robbery in which an elderly woman was threatened with a knife. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice January 4, 2024 QUEENS - A knife-wielding thief pushed his way into a 92-year-old woman’s home in Queens and then robbed her, the NYPD said.  At around 11 am on January 3, a young man knocked on the door to an elderly woman’s home in the vicinity of 231 Street and 64 Avenue. The 92-year-old woman opened the door and engaged in a conversation with the man.  Suddenly the man pushed his way inside and displayed a knife to the elderly victim, cops said. The man took the victim’s wallet which contained credit cards and $100 cash before fleeing, cops said.  The victim suffered only minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene. Gunman Wearing ‘South Park’ Shirt Opens Fire Inside Queens Restaurant The NYPD is searching for a man dressed in a "South Park" sweatshirt in connection with a shooting inside a Queens restaurant. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  January 2, 2024  QUEENS - A gunman sporting a “South Park” sweatshirt opened fire on a customer inside a Queens restaurant over the weekend, the NYPD said.  At around 3:30 am on December 29, a man wearing a “South Park” sweatshirt walked into Wild Onion Restaurant and Lounge, at 119-10 Merrick Blvd. Cops said the suspect saw a 39-year-old man inside the restaurant and pulled out a handgun.  The gunman fired off multiple rounds and struck the victim in the shoulder and torso several times.  The gunman then ran out of the restaurant and was last seen fleeing south on Merrick Boulevard.  The victim was taken by private meant to Jamaica Medical Center where he was treated for the multiple gunshot wounds. Jewel Thieves Make Off with $15 Grand, Shoot Employee

Jewelry Store Robbed, Worker Shot The NYPD is searching for four men who robbed a jewelry store in Corona and shot one of the store's employees. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 21, 2023  QUEENS - A quartet of moped riding jewel thieves shot a worker in Corona and made off with $15,000 worth of jewelry, the NYPD said.  At around 6:30 pm on December 12, three men entered a jewelry store on Junction Boulevard in Corona, Queens. A fourth man stood outside the store acting as a lookout. Cops said the three men pulled out handguns and demanded jewelry.  One of the gunmen fired his weapon hitting a 59-year-old employee in the thigh and grazing him in the head, cops said.  The crooks scooped up $15,000 worth of jewelry and fled on mopeds, cops said. Teen Charged in Knifepoint Robbery Outside Queens Library  The NYPD arrested a teenager in connection with a robbery at knifepoint outside a library. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice December 20, 2023 QUEENS - The NYPD arrested a 15-year old male in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a man outside a Queens library back in October.  Cops announced the arrest of a 15-year-old male who was charged with robbery, grand larceny and menacing. The suspect’s name was not released given the fact that he is a minor. At around 1 am on October 22, a 38-year-old man was walking outside the Queens Library on 104th Street. Cops said two young suspects ran up to him, pulled out a knife and placed the blade against the victim’s stomach. The other suspect rumaged through the victim’s pockets and removed a wallet and credit cards.

Elderly Woman Mugged in Sunnyside  The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with an assault and robbery of an elderly woman in Sunnyside, Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  December 19, 2023  QUEENS - A pair of muggers knocked an 82-year-old woman to the ground and robbed her in Sunnyside, Queens, cops said.  At around 2:30 pm on December 14, an 82-year-old woman was walking in the vicinity of 48 Street and Skillman Avenue. Cops said two men walked up behind the woman and knocked her to the ground. While the woman struggled to get up, the muggers riffled through her suitcase and removed cash.  Cops said the attackers then hopped into a blue Mazda SUV and drove north on 48 Street.  The victim suffered minor injuries and refused medical attention at the scene.  The suspects were caught on street surveillance video.
