Group Beat, Stomped Man in Jackson Heights for His Phone Subscribe in a reader By Dan Gesslein, July 31, 2020  A group of muggers, some as young as 16, punched, kicked and stomped on a defenseless man in Jackson Heights. The brutal attack was caught on camera.  The NYPD released the disturbing video in an attempt to apprehend the group attackers.   At around 2:20 am on July 25, a group of seven men jumped a 40-year-old man on the corner of 90th Street and 37th Avenue.      The NYPD released stills from a surveillance of a Queens mugging. The video shows that as the victim lay on the ground defenseless, the attackers punched, kicked and stomped him. The Manhattan US attorney has charged the Queens priest with receiving child pornography. Acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss announced the arrest of a pastor for the receipt of child pornography. Francis Hughes, 65, a pastor at a religious institution in Queens, is charged with receiving images of child pornography via text from a 15-year-old minor in Westchester, New York, with whom Hughes was engaging in sexually explicit text communications.   According to the complaint filed in White Plains federal court: On February 16, 2020, HUGHES communicated by text messages with a 15-year-old boy (“Minor-1”). During the course of the text communications, among other things, Minor-1 sent HUGHES three images of Minor-1’s penis.  Upon receiving one of the ima...

Homeless Man Charged with Attempted Rape in Queens Park Police released surveillance video of a man wanted for questioning in the attempted rape of a woman.  Subscribe in a reader By Dan Gesslein, July 27, 2020 A homeless man has been arrested in connection with the choking and attempted rape of a woman inside a Queens Park in broad daylight, NYPD officials say.  Police arrested 32-year-old Cuauhtemoc Cardenas and charged him with attempted rape, strangulation and assault. Cops say the suspect is homeless. At around 6:30 pm on July 25, a 51-year-old woman was walking on Orange Trail in Forest Park when she felt a tap on her shoulder. As she turned around she was struck in the head and pushed off the trail by a man.
