QUEENS - A pair of scooter riding gunmen shot a cellphone store worker during a robbery in Astoria, cops said. Investigators are hoping the robber’s golden handgun could lead to his arrest.

At around 6:45 pm on November 8, a 40-year-old employee was working inside a cellphone store at 32-78 Steinway Street in Astoria. The store’s surveillance camera recorded the robbery.

At first a man wearing a bike helmet walked into the store and asked questions about items. When a second man walked into the store, the first pulled a gold semi-automatic handgun out of his pocket and racked it. The gunman turned and pointed the weapon at the clerk demanding cash. The second man ran up to the counter with his gun drawn.

Cops said there was a struggle with the employee and the robbers. Then one of the robbers opened fire, discharging multiple rounds. The clerk was hit in both legs and the torso. As one of the gunmen raided the till, the other yanked a Rolex watch off the wounded clerk’s hand.

Cops said the gunmen then ran out of the site and fled on a scooter.

EMS rushed the victim to Elmuhurst Hospital where he was treated for his gunshot wounds and is listed in stable condition.

The NYPD released surveillance video from the shooting. The first suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion and medium build. He last seen wearing a gray helmet, black jacket and blue jeans.

The second suspect is a male with a medium complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black helmet, red mask, blue hooded sweatshirt and red and black sneakers.
