Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced that Jaimie Walker, 30, has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his 72-year-old father. The victim was found Thursday morning in the bathroom of his Queens Village home with multiple stab wounds to his neck. The defendant is additionally charged with criminal mischief for wrecking the interview room inside a police precinct.
Katz said, “The defendant in this case is accused of committing patricide. He allegedly beat his father before stabbing him to death. This was a brutal, violent killing.”
Walker, of Queens Village, was arraigned before Queens Criminal Court Judge Jeffrey Gershuny on two complaints, one charging him with murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and the second complaint charging him with criminal mischief in the third and fourth degree.
According to the charges, police found Loandows Walker bloody and deceased on the bathroom floor of the apartment where he lived. The defendant allegedly stomped on the elderly man’s head, choked him and then stabbed him several times in the neck.
Additionally, said Katz, while at the 109th police precinct, the defendant allegedly repeatedly slammed a table inside the interview room breaking its leg and then smashed the table multiple times against the two-way glass mirror causing it to shatter.
Criminal complaints and indictments are accusations. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
