QUEENS - A brazen thief beat a straphanger in the head with a skate board when the man tried to stop him from robbing him on a Queens train, cops said. 

At around 3 am on September 16, a 36-year-old man was riding a southbound E Train that was approaching the 71 Ave-Forest Hills subway station. Cops said a man walked up to him and started to rummage through the straphanger’s pockets trying to steal his property. 

The victim pushed him off and then pulled out his cellphone to record. 

Unafraid, the suspect walked over to another passenger and took his skateboard. He then walked back over to the victim and bashed him in the head with the skateboard. 

The attacker then got off the train at the next stop. 

The victim was treated at an area hospital where he is listed in stable condition. 

The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion and a white beard. He was last seen wearing a turquoise Nike hoodie and blue pants. He also wore green baseball cap with a yellow brim and a logo on the cap.
