At around 11 am on January 3, a young man knocked on the door to an elderly woman’s home in the vicinity of 231 Street and 64 Avenue. The 92-year-old woman opened the door and engaged in a conversation with the man. Suddenly the man pushed his way inside and displayed a knife to the elderly victim, cops said. The man took the victim’s wallet which contained credit cards and $100 cash before fleeing, cops said. The victim suffered only minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene. Drugstore Cowboys Steal Nearly $25,000 in Cash and Prescription Pills in Queens and Bronx Pharmacy Burglary Spree By Staff Reporter Queens Voice January 15, 2026 NEW YORK CITY — A crew of so-called “drugstore cowboys” is wanted by the NYPD after a brazen string of early-morning pharmacy burglaries across Queens and the Bronx that netted nearly $25,000 in cash and large quantities of prescription medications , police said. According to the NYPD, the suspects are believed to be responsible for five pharmacy break-ins spanning multiple precincts, targeting drugstores in Flushing , Fresh Meadows , Kew Gardens Hills , and the Westchester Square section of the Bronx . The burglaries occurred on December 20 and December 30, 2025 , and investigators say the incidents follow a clear pattern. Knife Attack in Bayside: Man Slashed in Hand During Dispute With Scooter Riders, Police Say

Knife Attack on Bell Boulevard Leaves 30-Year-Old Injured in Bayside By Staff Reporter Queens Voice July 24, 2026 BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Police are searching for two suspects after a 30-year-old man was slashed during an early morning confrontation in Bayside. According to investigators, the attack happened at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, outside 39-26 Bell Boulevard. Police said the victim was walking when two unidentified men riding a scooter approached him from behind. The encounter quickly escalated into a verbal dispute. During the confrontation, one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a knife and slashed the victim's right hand, causing a laceration. Emergency medical crews responded to the scene and transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
