Cops said a Queens woman was assaulted by a man who wanted her to “exchange” $30K through online bank accounts. But then reneged on the deal and assaulted her. The details of the assault are sketchy but the NYPD has info and video of the suspect.  At around noon on April 23, a 23-year-old woman had arranged to meet a man in front of Flushing bank at 37-01 138 Street. The victim told investigators that she went there to “exchange currency.”  The plan was for the man to hand over $30,000 in cash to the woman and she was to “transfer money online to bank accounts.”  Cops said as the two discussed the plan, the man with the cash became angry with her. Thieves Steal Safe from Building in Broad Daylight in Queens

The NYPD is searching for these two men seen on camera wheeling a safe out of a building in Far Rockaway. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  May 9, 2024  QUEENS - A pair of brazen crooks were caught on camera stealing a safe from a building and wheeling it out on a hand truck in broad daylight in Queens, cops said.  At around 2:30 pm on May 7, two men entered a building in the vicinity of Dinsmore Avenue and Beach 9th Street in Far Rockaway. Cops said the crooks broke into a storage room and removed safe.   The NYPD released surveillance video showing the suspects loading the safe, which was on a hand truck into an elevator. They are then seen casually walking through the lobby of the building with the safe.  Cops said the loaded the safe into a dark-color Ford Taurus and drove away.  According to the surveillance video, both suspects appear to be stocky built with light complexions. Cops Make Arrest in Teen Subway Groping

Brooklyn Nabbed in Teen Groping The NYPD has announced the arrest of a man in the groping of a 15-year-old girl at a Queens subway station. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 3, 2024 QUEENS - A Brooklyn man has been arrested in connection with the groping and robbing of a 15-year-old girl at a Ridegewood subway station, cops said. The NYPD announced the arrest of 31-year-old Christopher Santana of Prospect Heights. Santana has been charged with sexual abuse, aggravated sexual abuses, acting in a manner injurious to a child and robbery. At around 8:40 pm on February 9, a 15-year-old girl was standing on the northbound platform of the Halsey Street station. Cops said a man walked up to the teen and knocked her for the ground. Investigators said the attacker picked the girl up and forcibly kissed her. At the same time he groped the teen over her clothing. Cops said after sexually assaulting the girl, he forcibly took her cell phone and fled the station.

Gunman Can’t Shoot Straight, Blows Out Car Window, Fires into House

Gunman Fires Into Playground, Hits a House The NYPD is looking for this man in connection with a shooting in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  May 2, 2024  QUEENS - A gunman who fired into a playground blew out a car window and hit a house, cops said.  At around 5:30 pm on April 28, cops said a man across from a playground at 156-11 108 Avenue pulled out a gun and opened fire. The bullet shattered a car window and busted a window inside a nearby house.  No one was injured in the shooting.  Investigators are unaware if the gunman was aiming at a person during the shooting.  Police released surveillance video of the suspect who is described as a male with a medium to dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a white hooded sweater, dark-colored vest, black pants, and gray sneakers. Female Attacker Repeatedly Punches Straphanger in the Face on Subway

Female Subway Rider Beaten in Random Attack The NYPD is searching for this woman in connection with an assault on a female subway rider at Queens Plaza. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 1, 2024 QUEENS - A female straphanger was violently attacked by a woman who repeatedly punched her in the face on a Queens subway train, cops said.  At around 8 pm on April 21, a 55-year-old woman was riding on a northbound E train near the Queens Plaza subway station. Cops said a woman walked up to her and, without saying a word, began punching the straphanger in the face.  When the train stopped at the station, the attacker ran out.  Cops said the victim suffered pain and bruising to the face but refused medical attention at the scene.

Toolbox Muggers Attack Man on F Train The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with an assault and robbery of a straphanger using pliers. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice April 24, 2024 QUEENS - A Queens subway rider was beaten and robbed by a pair of attackers who displayed a knife and a pair of pliers, cops said.  At around 8 pm on April 20, a 20-year-old man was onboard an F Train in Queens. As the train was pulling in to the Hillside Avenue/179 Street Subway Station, two men approached the straphanger.  Cops said one of the men pulled out a knife, the other pulled out a pair of pliers. The attackers then began punching and kicking the straphanger. They also beat the man with the pliers, cops said. The attackers went on to forcibly removed the victim’s cellphone and wallet.  When the train stopped at the station, the attackers ran out of the subway car and fled the station.  EMS rushed the victim to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where was li...
