VIDEO - Gunmen Open Fire on Queens Basketball Court, Wound Teens The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with a drive-by shooting at a Queens basketball court. -Photos by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 30, 2024 QUEENS - Gunmen committed a drive by on “green” transport wounding two teenagers in Queens, cops said. One of the gunmen rode a Citibike and the other rode a metal kick scooter.  The NYPD released surveillance video of the two suspects. Both suspects wore black hoodies and masks to cover their appearances. Cops said they committed the drive by while riding the bike and scooter.  At around 4:15 pm on May 29, a 15-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl were playing on the basketball court located in the rear of 441 Beach 51 Street.  The two men in black rode up, pulled out handguns and fired off multiple rounds.  The 15-year-old female suffered gunshot wounds to the left leg and right arm. Crime - Gunman Robs Queens Gas Station, Steals Merch The NYPD has identified Jose Valentin of Brooklyn in connection with the armed robbery of a gas station mini market in New Hyde Park. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 29, 2024 QUEENS - Cops are looking for a gunman who had the munchies when he robbed a gas station mini mart in Queens.  Using surveillance cameras inside the mini mart the NYPD has identified the suspect from a past mug shot. The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Jose Valentin of Brooklyn.  According to police, at around 3:15 am on May 14, the suspect, seen on video wearing a mask, arrived at the gas station at 134-30 Atlantic Avenue.

In one case a woman was punched and dragged for her purse. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 22, 2024 QUEENS - Cops are searching for a scooter riding purse snatching crew in Queens which hit two victims in a three-hour period.  At around 7:25 pm on May 7, a 50-year-old woman was walking home when she was approached by a moped in front of 38-14 30th Street. Cops said the moped pulled up and the suspect on the back grabbed the woman’s purse off her shoulder and then took off. The victim sustained lacerations to her hand but refused medical attention. Female Straphanger Slashed Across Leg The NYPD is searching for this man in connection with the slashing of a female subway rider in Queens. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein Queens Voice May 16, 2024 QUEENS - New photos of a suspect wanted in the slashing of a woman at the Queens Plaza subway station have been released by the NYPD.  At around 11:45 pm on May 10, a 22-year-old woman was riding the southbound E-Train approaching the Queens Plaza station. Cops said a man in a baseball cap approached her, and, without warning, slashed the woman in the left leg, causing a deep bleeding cut.  The man exited the train at the station.  EMS rushed the victim to New York-Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center where she was treated and listed in stable condition.  The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion. Cops have an image of one of the suspected safe thieves who brazenly walked a giant safe out of a Queens building in broad daylight.  Cops have been searching for the pair who robbed a building in Far Rockaway last week. The robbers were caught on multiple cameras stealing the large safe on a hand truck. However, the suspects were wearing masks from the time they entered the building until after they wheeled the stolen safe out.  However, investigators have images of one of the suspects without a mask, cops said. Teens Robbed for Moped, Slashed   The NYPD is searching for these men in connection with the slashing of two teens in Fresh Meadows. -Photo by NYPD By Dan Gesslein  Queens Voice  May 14, 2024  QUEENS - Robbers slashed a pair of Queens teens when they robbed the victims’ moped, cops said.  At around 11:20 am on May 3, a 15-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were on a residential block in Fresh Meadows. Cops said two men approached the teens and demanded their moped. When the teens refused the robbers began slashing.  Cops said one of the victims was slashed on his left shoulder and the other was slashed on the right hand. The attackers then forced the victims off the moped. The slashers mounted the scooter and rode off.  The NYPD released cellphone video of the suspects.
